It's not "Sean-a-Paul" it's "Chandyrpaul"

I'd confidently bet a fair few Boomtown bucks that you could go up to anyone at Power of Now and talk about Sean Paul and it wouldn't be long until someone came out with that iconic sing song "Sean-a-Paul". If you've listened to any of those iconic tracks from the 00's you will know that famous introduction line as well as any other part of the banger!

Recently though, Sean Paul revealed that all this time he wasn't saying his own name!

Cue Shiv Chandyrpaul.

Chandyrpaul was a legendary cricketer who dominated the game as a batter in the West Indies over the 90's.

The similarity in name got Sean Paul the nickname in his early days whilst freestyling. He gradually began to bring it into all his tracks and the joke with his mates in the studio was totally missed by the millions who listened to his music.
