Ms. Dynamite, born Niomi McLean-Daley, hails from North London and was influenced by reggae and hip-hop from a young age. Initially pursuing a career in social work or education, her passion for music prevailed. 

After starting on pirate radio station RAW FM, she met producer Sticky, and together they crafted her debut single "Boo!" which led to her first album A Little Deeper. Featuring hits like "Dy-Na-Mi-Tee," the album earned her the Mercury Music Prize in 2002, making her the first Black female artist to win. She followed up with Judgement Days in 2005, solidifying her place in music history.

Since her dominance in the 00s Ms Dynamite has been on a hiatus from releasing her own music however she has still appeared in notable collaborations such as with JayKay and CLIPZ and she was even an advisor on Goldie’s BBC 2 show “By Royal Appointment”. We’ve wanted Ms Dynamite to join us at Boomtown for years, to say that we are buzzing would be the understatement of the century. 

The last few chapters have seen a huge variety of Hip Hop at Boomtown in particular on the Grand Central stage. Over the past few years alone we’ve seen US legends Cypress Hill and Pharcyde as well as hosting the UK Hip-Hop Allstars.
