Aphrodite
DJ Aphrodite, a pioneering figure in UK rave music, has been shaping electronic music since 1988. Starting with acid house, he became a producer and owner of Aphrodite Recordings by the early '90s, helping to create the jungle sound. His innovation in the mid-'90s led to the rise of jump-up drum 'n' bass, blending high-energy bass with hip-hop and reggae influences. Partnering with Micky Finn as Urban Shakedown and Urban Takeover, they defined '90s rave music with classics like "Bad Ass" and "Some Justice." After decades of global performances, Aphrodite remains a revered figure in drum 'n' bass, influencing new generations.
