Afriquoi

Afriquoi is an underground sensation known for fusing live African dance music with UK electronic influences. The 5-piece band blends Gambian kora, Congolese guitar, and Mandinka percussion with house, garage, disco, soul, and jungle to create unique, dancefloor-friendly music. Formed in London in 2011, the group brings together musicians from Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK, each a band leader in their own right. Afriquoi has a global fanbase, performing at major festivals like Glastonbury and WOMAD. Their debut album Kolaba was released in 2015, followed by other successful EPs. They are set to release a new EP in 2023.
